A new edition of classic game show The $25,000 Pyramid from Sony and producer Michael Davies may end up replacing the cancelled Guiding Light daytime drama, according to TVWeek. The updated game show version would likely be 60m to fit the empty time slot, though CBS is said to be considering several projects to replace Guiding Light and may go with an in-house produced option including a talk show format. Oxygen’s new competition reality series Pretty Wicked premiered Tuesday night at 11p, making it the youngest and most-watched series debut with total viewers, A18-49 and the network’s prime demo of W18-34. The inaugural episode, with a median age of 24, drew in 333,000 W18-49, 466,000 A18-49 and 617,000 total viewers. (Cynopsis 4/2)

AMC is back in the development saddle with True West, the network’s first non-scripted primetime series with a Western theme, per Variety. Hulu is pre-premiering Southland today, one week before its debut on broadcast television.  The new NBC show delves into the gritty world of a police unit in Los Angeles.

I haven’t seen Ben McKenzie in anything since the OC.  I wonder if he’ll have a dreadfully annoying girlfriend on this show as well.

Following a successful Twitter campaign around On Board Air Force One, National Geographic Channel has launched its own full time Twitter account to market priority programming. Following the IAB/PwC’s release of slowing internet growth, down from 26% in 2007 to 11% last year, eMarketer released some newly revised online ad spending projections that cuts its growth projections for 2009 in half. The new version (v10.06.0046.0800) of the Windows Live For Windows Mobile client, which is evidently free of charge, includes mobile versions of Windows Live Hotmail (works with both both pull and push sync), Windows Live Messenger, Windows Live Contacts, Windows Live Spaces, Microsoft Live Search and enhanced photo upload capabilities. The app comes in a Pro version for touch-enabled devices and a Standard version for non-touch phones, and is available in 25 languages. Despite worries that it would be it hampered by the digital TV delay, Qualcomms live mobile FLO TV service announced expansion of its service to an additional 19 markets around the country, extending FLO TV’s coverage to more than 10 million potential new viewers ahead of the revised June 12 DTV transition date. In all the service covers 68 markets and is sold through AT&T and Verizon Wireless. (Cynopsis 4/2)

Tesla says that 520 S Model all electric sedans have been reserved by customers in first week since it was announced. Each customer must pay a $5,000 reservation fee, which is refundable if they choose not to buy the car. The base price for the Model S, which will be available starting in 2010, is $49,900 after a federal tax credit of $7,500. A limited editon of the Model S is available for a $40,000 reservation fee.
