Microsoft is taking steps to ban hackers from Xbox Live who have been paid by disgruntled players to boot the competition from the network using data-flooding tools. Among the attacks are the “Denial of Service” ploy, which prohibits a player from connecting to the network. “They get your IP address, put it in the booter tool and they attempt to flood the port that uses Xbox traffic,” said one expert.
