In a demonstration of why President-elect Barack Obama will probably have to surrender his BlackBerry, owner Research in Motion on Monday issued a pair of interim patches to cover up critical security holes in the handset’s software. In an advisory, RIM listed four service packs from its Enterprise Server and Professional Software systems that were affected and warned users to open PDF documents only from trusted senders.
