HBO‘s seven-part miniseries “John Adams” as well as ongoing series “In Treatment” and “True Blood” were big winners during Sunday evening’s Golden Globes competition. The documentary on the second U.S. president received recognition for its two lead characters, Paul Giamatti and Laura Linney as John and Abigail Adams, while Tom Wilkinson’s turn as Benjamin Franklin won an award for best supporting actor. I couldn’t be a bigger fan of John Adams.  If you haven’t seen it, the multiple hours you’ll put into watching it are surely worth it.  Favorite moment from last night?  Slumdog Millionaire wining in the film category.  That movie is candy land for the soul.

The recent NFL Wild Card Weekend drew in an average of 25.8 million viewers over four games, representing the most viewers for an NFL Wild Card Weekend since January 2003. Current individual results include NBC with 21.0 million viewers for the January 3 at 430p Falcons at Cardinals game; NBC with 27.8 million viewers for the January 3 at 8p Colts at Chargers game; CBS with 23.9 million viewers for the January 4 at 1p Ravens at Dolphins game; and FOX with 30.0 million viewers for the January 4 at 430p Eagles at Vikings game. Production has begun in New York for season two of HBO’s In Treatment, the 30m drama starring Gabriel Byrne and Dianne Wiest. During the second season, scheduled to open in April, new cast members include Hope Davis, Russell Hornsby, John Mahoney, Alison Pill, Sherri Saum and Aaron Shaw and returning from season one as a guest star will be Glynn Turman. New episodes will air over two nights each week with two episodes on Sunday from 10-11p and three on Mondays at 10-1130p. (Cynopsis 1/12)

FOX revived its comedy series ‘Til Death by handing it a 22-episode order for a fourth season, reports Variety. The 30m comedy has been on hiatus since early October and there are 15 remaining episodes to complete the current third season. (Cynopsis 1/12)

Charter Communications has filed suit in U.S. District Court in Norfolk, Va., against Verizon Communications’ FiOS service.
