SLINGBOX GETS REALLY MOBILE: IPHONE APP

Here’s my open letter to Apple.  Please approve this iPhone app.  I want nothing more than to watch linear television from my mobile phone in the same fashion I’m used to.  MobiTV, nah,  Mediaflo…not so much.  But my connected TV with DVR, oooooo yah.  Let me give you a situation to drive this point home.  You’re sitting at home watching the premiere of the new season of Gossip Girl.  At some point, let’s say 15 minutes before the end of the show, you realize you need to leave to meet up with your friends for dinner lest you be accused yet again of being chronically late.

So…do you:

A) Screw your friends.  You need to know if Chuck Bass makes another move on Blair while wearing some obscene scarf selection.

B) Take off and risk having to overhear someone ruin the remaining moments of the show at some point in the night.  Possible jail time resulting from you hurling a fork in their direction.

Solution:

  • Leave.  Take a cab and watch the remaining minutes on your iPhone via Slingbox while on the way to dinner.  Ah, efficiency.  Now, the only problem will be how not to scare the cab driver as you freak out at Serena’s latest boy obsession.

Check out the video demo below.  Apologies for the background noise.  My Flip Video has difficulty differentiating, . .
