“Monk,” the USA Network show about an obsessive-compulsive detective, will be back next summer for an eighth season. The show, which stars Tony Shalhoub, received an order for 16 fresh episodes, which the network said could constitute its final season. Variety (11/14)

CBS handed a full-season order to frosh comedy Gary Unmarried and okayed three additional episodes of the new sitcom Worst Week. Gary Unmarried airs on Wednesdays at 8p and Worst Week on Mondays at 930p in the hot spot after Two and a Half Men. (Cynopsis 11/17)
