For the first holiday selling season since winning the DVD-format war against Toshiba, Sony introduced its fall lineup of Blu-ray players, including a new unit for the global market that will ship in December and retail for $2,000. The high-end product will join a second new Blu-ray player Sony launched in the U.S. in July for $399. The company also said it would sell seven Blu-ray recorders in Japan. In what is believed to be a first for the TV industry, Panasonic and Comcast are set to conduct a live demonstration of the tru2way interactive-television experience. The demo, which will be carried out in Denver, will involve a 50-inch, tru2way-enabled Panasonic TV set that will be linked to a local Comcast head end. CEPro.com (9/3)
