With the Nintendo Wii retailing for $249, Microsoft said Wednesday that it was cutting the price of its Xbox consoles, a move that will lower its 360 Arcade $80, to $199, and other models $50, to $299 and $399. Microsoft has lost ground over the summer to second-place Sony’s PlayStation 3, and analysts noted it marked the first time a current-generation console has sold for less than the Wii. If Hulu and the new TheWB.com have whetted your appetite for more Buffy the Vampire Slayer adventures, you’ll soon have the opportunity to really immerse yourself. Twentieth Century Fox Licensing & Merchandising and The Multiverse Network, Inc. announced they are developing a Massively Multiplayer Online Game (MMOG) based on the Buffy universe. Perhaps to free up resources for the project, Fox also announced it is putting development of the previously announced Firefly MMOG on the back burner. (Cynopsis 8/4)
