TiVo is developing a new digital video recorder for DirecTV, potentially opening the door to boosting its subscribers. TiVo will work with DirecTV to make a DVR product for customers with high-speed Internet service, supporting both companies’ latest features. Fueled by a raft of new state laws banning the use of cell phones while driving, a growing number of auto manufacturers are factory-installing hands-free Bluetooth technology in their vehicles. Top-of-the-line makers such as BMW and Lexus now are being joined by less luxurious models, including some versions of the Nissan Sentra, Ford Focus and Honda Civic. MSNBC (9/2)
