TiVo is developing a new digital video recorder for DirecTV, potentially opening the door to boosting its subscribers. Fueled by a raft of new state laws banning the use of cell phones while driving, a growing number of auto manufacturers are factory-installing hands-free Bluetooth technology in their vehicles.
