Despite registering an 8% gain in revenue from its television sets, Royal Philips Electronics announced that the company’s overall net was off 54%, to $1.15 billion, in the second quarter. The Dutch firm, the fifth-largest maker of LCD TVs in the world, reported $2.16 billion in revenue from TV sales during the period.
