“Mad Men,” the AMC show that attracted a robust following last year in its freshman outing, kicks off Season Two on July 27 at 10 p.m. To build excitement in the run-up to the premiere, the network is planning to rerun the first season in a marathon July 20. (Variety 5/29)
HBO‘s original movie Recount with Kevin Spacey and Laura Dern, among numerous other notables, debuted last Sunday night and delivered approx one million viewers. Just finished watching this last night. The film is an excellent well-balanced view of the situation. I might have to go ahead and watch this one again.

NBC Universal is making plans to cover an unprecedented 3,600 hours of the Beijing Summer Olympics from Aug. 8 to 24. The coverage will include about 1,400 hours on NBC and the company’s cable outlets, such as USA Network, Oxygen, MSNBC and CNBC. (USA TODAY 5/29)
Hoping to keep people tuned in during commercial interruptions, TBS will begin a microseries Monday called “Commuter Confidential,” which will run during breaks of “Sex and the City.” The microseries is actually an ad in itself, and it will be sponsored by Revlon and Match.com.
