Electronic Arts, which has failed to attract majority support from Take-Two shareholders for its hostile takeover bid, has announced that it will extend the deadline for its offer. EA said it believed that regulatory approval of the takeover would fuel shareholder acceptance, but many analysts say they believe the offer is too low. In the midst of the NBA playoffs, Gameloft has reached a deal with the NBA to develop and distribute two games for the mobile market, simulation and arcade-style titles. “NBA Smash!” will be available this month, while the 5-on-5 simulation game will hit the market in September. (GameDaily BIZ 5/16)
