VIDEO GAME INSPIRED: THE MIXX TAPE
After downloading the first nine tracks free from Nine Inch Nails new album Ghosts I-IV, I loaded the tracks up on my iPhone and hit the streets. Certain days on my commute into work, the subway lulls me into a somewhat trance and I close my eyes for a few brief moments. It was in this moment that track seven from this new album lit up my eardrums. In my trance-like state, I imagined I was in an industrial video game complete with Saw-like graphics straight out of the underworld.
Now, I am by no means a gamer. I haven’t played a real console game since Mario World came out. That said, I know a video-game-inspired track when I hear one. Hence, a little mix tape action for this Friday. This list of tracks lays down the video game flavor in 10 distinct ways. I hope you enjoy. At the very least, I hope you’re introduced to some fun music for your weekend.
Game on.
