the ram (can be bought for $40 or cheaper) can easily be upgraded to 2gb on the tz. and your screen comparison makes no sense. so do you rate laptops with bigger screens better than those with smaller screens? ok, then guess the macbook pro beats them all then!

some people PREFER smaller screen. there's a reason why companies make ULTRAPORTABLE laptops...the ones with the smaller screens means smaller footprint, which the mba will never be able to beat the sony tz in. the footprint of the air < footprint of the vaio tz. the biggest deciding factor in portability besides battery life (which the tz beats the air decidedly with its 8 hour estimated battery life--and yes, it DOES get 8 hours if you have everything minimal with wifi and dvd drive off).

apple should have compared their NON ultraportable mba to the sony vaio sz, which is also 13.3. as most people don't fall in the ultraportable market, this igorance doesn't surprise me. comparing a thin and light notebook to an ultraportable is not much of a comparison, imo.

nice comparaison! I would personnaly go with the air simply because it's slimmer.. i can easily deal with no disk support, having a tower at home i can easily transfert/rip anything and send it over wireless network.. depends of your needs, always! thanks for your post
