Claiming a 50% share of the HD DVD market in 2007, Toshiba has lowered prices on hardware and software after Warner Bros. made the switch to Blu-ray. Among the bargains Toshiba offers are $149.99 HD-A3, a $199.99 HD-A30, top of the line HD-A35 for $299.99 and extension of its “perfect offer” of five HD DVDs free with each hardware purchase. The sale of LCD television sets is expected to increase 33% in the U.S. this year as color, design and style become more important to consumers. LCD top dog Samsung will set the pace by launching its “Touch of Color” campaign in March. (Brandweek 1/14)

It looks very much like Toshiba have lost the battle, doesn’t it… with Warner, Universal, MGM and Paramount all supporting BluRay now.
