Mobile media company Intercasting Corp. will begin to offer Community Connect’s niche social networking service to wireless subscribers through the ANTHEM mobile social networking platform. ANTHEM will provide BlackPlanet.com, MiGente.com, GLEE.com, Faithbase.com and AsianAve.com users with an interface to allow them to view photos, send and receive messages, post comments and search profiles from their handsets.

Motorola officials have announced plans to include the Linux operating system on up to 60% of the company’s mobile phones by 2009. Motorola is set to release its first Linux-based phone, the Razr2 V8, in the U.S. later this year. (InfoWorld/IDG News Service 8/8)
