NBC beat its competitors to the punch by striking the first deal in the 2007-08 upfront. The nearly $1 billion pact with Group M was struck under the new format of live plus three commercial ratings data.   (InsideBrandedEntertainment.com/Hollywood Reporter  6/14)  

Wall Street analysts are predicting that AT&T will choose Echostar over DirecTV as its sole marketing partner for satellite-TV services. AT&T, which currently has partnerships in place with both providers, is expected to pick between the two by year’s end. (Yahoo!/Investor’s Business Daily 6/13)

Unlikely bedfellows Liberty Media and Echostar are working on a joint offer for satellite-communications provider Intelstat Ltd. Liberty is scheduled to take over control of DirecTV, EchoStar’s main competitor, in the coming months. (The Wall Street Journal 6/14)
